NW Chapter History
In 1962, “Society of Chinese Engineers of Seattle” (SCES) was formed. In early 1990’s, SCES joined “Chinese Institute of Engineers(CIE)/USA “as “CIE/USA-Seattle.” In 1997, Aerospace Engineers from CIE/USA-Seattle organized a society and named it as “Society of Chinese American Aerospace Engineers (SCAAE).” Seattle with Los Angeles and Dallas Chapters established a National SCAAE in 2000. SCAAE in Seattle changed its name to NW Chapter. For the past several years, NW Chapter has been working with its sister chapters to educate members about advances in aviation engineering by facilitating technical seminars and tours, serving and out-reaching to our community by volunteering and providing scholarship. The NW Chapter also strives to provide a common platform for exchange of technical expertise by organizing /sponsoring annual convention and various social gatherings.
